Deviant Wolfe Brewing

Promoting Balance Through Beer

Deviant Wolfe Brewing was created by four friends, Matt, Shannon, Johnathan, and Kendall, who met during college at the University of Florida. Their vision was to promote balance in the lives of others.  To them, balance means living an active lifestyle, being involved in the community, accepting environmental responsibility, and socializing with friends and family, all while enjoying quality craft beer.

Several years ago, Matt and Johnathan started home brewing beer together as a hobby. When they were not brewing, the four were frequent travel buddies in search of outdoor adventures and good beer. Their passion for craft beer and the outdoors eventually led to Deviant Wolfe Brewing.

Taproom History

Just one day after the space on 1st Street became available, the Wolvertons just happened to be hanging out in Sanford and saw the ‘for rent’ sign. Before becoming a brewery, the space served as a dance studio, a Crossfit gym, as well as a bank. FYI, the original bank vault now serves as the staff office.

Using recycled and reclaimed materials whenever possible, the team took on much of the construction themselves. Johnathan handmade the picnic tables and window bar, pallet wood was reclaimed for the main bar front, and all of the furniture was re-purposed.

Community, Adventure & Love of Craft Beer

The Deviant Wolfe logo is a campfire because campfires are a place to gather, share stories, drink beer, immerse yourself in nature, and find balance. As proponents of hiking, adventure races, running, rock climbing, triathlons, and nature immersion, the crew wanted to create a great outdoors escape and experience at the taproom. Gather with friends, share stories, and find your balance with our beers.
